Hi developer,
In 24 hours, I'll have just boarded on my plane towards San Francisco. WWDC is around the corner and it's like Christmas for us developers.
Time for a quick update on everything that shipped since RocketSim 16 — plus, I'm bringing a limited batch of RocketSim pins to WWDC.
More on how to grab one below. 👀

Audio Waveforms: As Promised
Last broadcast I teased these were coming. They're here: since 16.0.1, the side window shows live audio waveforms, so you can see at a glance whether your mic actually captured sound — before you waste a take re-recording.
The post-editor also shows waveforms underneath the thumbnail strip:
You can now export the Simulator and microphone as one merged track (the new default) or keep them separate — a lifesaver when you're dropping recordings into Final Cut Pro. (Thanks for the nudge, P. Friese!)
And finally, you can now also record your microphone during USB-device recordings.

Agent Skill & CLI
Thank you to everyone who embraced our Agent Skill & CLI from the start. It's been an absolute joy to receive your honest first impressions!
The biggest change is that we're now supporting Xcode's Agentic Development integration:
Basically giving Xcode eyes and control over the Simulator. But honestly: I truly hope this gets sherlocked next week!
Other worth mentioning improvements:
- Fewer repeated approvals, smarter refreshes, and faster wait polling. In our own testing, RocketSim's CLI ran the same agent workflows ~19% faster, with ~63% fewer tokens, and zero wrong taps versus a popular alternative.
- Zoomed annotated snapshots further help agents to break out non-accessible flows
- CLI can now answer Face-ID prompts
See the full agent workflow in the docs.

USB Devices Support
Connected USB devices now work with RocketSim. The side window will show up and you're able to create screenshots, videos, or compare designs.
The device window no longer shows up automatically and you're able to further finetune behavior inside the settings. At any time, you can use the status bar menu to access any of your devices.
New to physical devices? Here's how to set it up.

Location Simulation Improvements
Need to test a location that isn't on a road? Long-press the map to drop exact coordinates for location simulation.
For routes, the new Follow roads toggle decides how RocketSim connects two waypoints:
- Enabled: calculates a car or walking route using Apple Maps directions.
- Disabled: moves in a straight line between waypoints — perfect for golf courses, hiking paths, indoor routes, or any off-road scenario.

WWDC & Pins
I'll be at WWDC next week, so please say hi if you see me! I'm 6'6", probably smiling, and you really won't be bothering me: I'm there to meet you and I love talking to RocketSim users directly. I've got a limited number of enamel pins with me.
Find me, say hi, and grab one (or both). Got one? Tag @rocketsim_app with your pin so I can see where they end up.
Coming to WWDC?
Hit reply and tell me — I'd love to know who to look out for.
Accessibility Meetup
RocketSim is also proudly sponsoring Make It Visible: Accessibility Meetup — come see how RocketSim helps you test and improve your app's accessibility. Seats are limited:
WWDC is always exciting, and I can't wait to see what's new in Xcode 27. I purposely focused on maturing the RocketSim 16 release so we can adapt to it fast.
Stay tuned for a large release in July this year!
